  • How to create a new user

Create a new user, or edit an existing user (including resetting a password) for the Back Office and Point of Sale.

New users can be created from within Oscar Back Office by any user who access to Back Office. Since Cashier and Supervisor level users only have access to Oscar Point of Sale, they are unable to create new users.

A list of current users and option for creating a new User can be found in the System tab of Oscar Back office as seen in the screenshot below.

  • Double-click on ‘Add new User’ and fill out the new User’s details:
    •    Logon Name – The username that the new user will type each time they log in
  • •    Password – Set an initial password for the new user, something simple and easy to remember.
  • •    Forename
  • •    Surname
  • •    User Type – A breakdown of Permissions is included at the end of this document.
  • •    [Optional] Swipe card – Assign a swipe card here by typing it’s serial number or clicking the ‘Swipe Card’ button.
  • •    User cannot log on – This check-box disables the User and prevents their username and password being used to log onto any part of Oscar.
  • •    User must change password at next login – This forces a password change the next time the user logs on and will require them to set their own secret and memorable password when they first log in to Oscar.


User Types (Permissions)


Cashier (Point of Sale access only)

•    Cannot process refunds
•    Cannot sell Comp Types that are flagged as ‘Supervisor Authority is required…’
•    Cannot access House Seats that are flagged as ‘Supervisor authority is required…’
•    Cannot use Discount Schemes that are flagged as ‘Supervisor Authority is required…’
•    Cannot use the Membership Types that are flagged as ‘Supervisor Authority is required…’
•    Cannot open Cash Drawer in Other Options if Savoy Systems has enabled the setting to disallow this.


Supervisor (Point of Sale access only)

•    Can process refunds
•    Has access to ‘Supervisor Authority is required…’ functionality.


Manager (Point of Sale and Back Office access)

•    Cannot add or amend Seat Types
•    Cannot amend Auditorium / Seating Plans
•    Cannot Access Analytics Settings
•    Cannot edit Internet Settings
•    Cannot edit Charge Types or Trigger Conditions
•    Cannot edit ‘User-Defined Fields’
•    Cannot edit Ticket / Receipt Print Layouts


Director (Point of Sale and Back Office access)

•    Full access to all (non-admin) elements of Oscar
