The following instructions details how pin the Oscar PoE app to the screen on a TC20 scanning device. By pinning the device, you can ensure that users won’t inadvertently close the app or open a different app since the device will request you enter a pincode.

Part A: Set a Pin Code
1.    Go to Settings > Security > Screen Lock
2.    Choose ‘PIN’ and set a 4 digit pin. Try to avoid using something simple to guess like 1234 or 0000.
3.    Lock the device and confirm you can unlock it with your pincode.

Part B: Pin the App
1.    Go to Settings > Security > Screen Pinning. Turn On both Screen Pinning as well as the ‘Ask for PIN before unpinning option’:

2.    Open the OSCAR Point of Entry app from either the main menu or the shortcut on the home screen.
3.    Press the Switch Apps button (the square button in the bottom right of the screen);

4.    The Oscar PoE App will appear and should have a small pin icon within it:

5.    Press this button and the phone will pin this app to the screen:
 

6.    Pressing those two button will cause the screen to lock, at which point you’ll need to enter the device’s pincode. Assuming you enter the code correctly, you can now close the app and use the device as you normally would. To re-pin the app, simply open the OSCAR PoE app and repeat steps 3 and 4.
