  • How To Cash Up and Perform End of Day

A step by step guide on how to cash up the tills and complete the End of Day procedure in Back Office.

The following guide outlines the process for performing a Cash Drop on each till and then performing an End of Day in Back Office.

1. Open Back Office, select the Cash Control tab and click on “End of Day” on the right-hand side:

This shows a row per till, with the Cash Sales for each one. Make a note of how much cash Oscar expects there to be in each till.

2. Go to the first till, remove all the money from the till. Remove the float and then carefully count all the cash which is left. The value of the cash you have counted should be equal to the value that was listed in the Cash Sales column for the till in the End of Day screen (if it is different, it is worth checking again!).

3. On the till, go to POS and select “Other Tasks” -> “Cash Drop” and enter the Amount of cash you have withdrawn from the till (i.e. the total amount left after you removed the float).

NB: The 'Cash Drop' can be recorded through clicking on the 'Adjust Till eg. Cash Drop' button if you already have the Cash but do not wish to physically walk back to the till again.

4. Repeat this process on each till in turn.

5. Return to Back Office and press the “Refresh” Button on the Cash Drop window:

The totals in the columns should then update to reflect the fact you have performed a Cash Drop on all of the tills:

6. If there are any errors against a till, you should write a comment in the right-hand "comment" column.

7. Once all tills are correct (no errors, or errors are accounted for), click “End of Day”:

This ends the transaction period and starts a new one.
