How to use loyalty points at POS.
Before you can use loyalty points, a loyalty scheme will need to be set up and configured in your Oscar instance by a member of Savoy Systems.
Adding a Patron to a Transaction to Allocate Points
Once the Loyalty Scheme has been set up, points can be assigned to a customer in the following way:
1. Add items to basket.
2. Select 'Other Payment':
3. The payment window will appear. If the customer has a loyalty/swipe card, you can swipe it and they will be automatically added to the transaction. If the customer does not have a card, select the 'Patron/Member' option:
4. Search for the patron in the patron search window by entering a detail such as their surname or email address:
5. You will be presented with a set of results.
If the results do not contain an entry for them, select Cancel and create them a new account.
If the results do contain an entry for them, , tap on it and their account will open.
If you need to assign a loyalty card to the patron, do as follows:
a) Select the 'Advanced' tab:
b) Select 'Edit'.
c) Select 'Swipe Card':
d) Swipe the new loyalty card and click ok once the number has appeared in the box:
e) Select OK to save your changes.
6. The patron will now be assigned to the transaction and the number of points they're about to earn will be displayed in the transaction view window:
7. Complete the sale as usual.
Using Loyalty Points to Pay for a Transaction at POS
1. Add items to basket.
2. Select 'Other Payment'.
3. Add the Patron to the transaction using either the Patron/Member button or by swiping their loyalty card.
4. Select 'Loyalty Points..':
5. Enter the number of points you wish to use (the total available on the customer's account will be displayed in the bottom left button which you can select if you wish to use as many as possible):
6. Choose the automatic assignment option unless you have a specific reason to assign manually:
7. Oscar will update the transaction to apply the points to any relevant items:
8. Complete the sale as usual.
Check Current Loyalty Points Balance of a Patron
To view the current Loyalty Points balance of a given patron in Oscar, simply open the Patron record and look in the bottom left hand corner of the initial summary window:
